Babbling On and On About Men Rotting in Submerged Tombs and a 200 Year Old Identity Crisis
Just when I thought excavating in Egypt is just routine nowadays, builders of a mosque found an intact tomb... unfortunately it is also submerged in the water table. And just when I thought Ramses II couldn't possibly have built any more temples or statues than what was already found, school builders found more fruits of his... egotistical pursuits. Guess
it's getting exciting in that part of the world again. =)

After 200 years, the controversy as to whether The-Boy-Who-Would've-Been-LouisXVII really died in prison after the demise of his parents, King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, was finally settled. Apparently, the doctor who attended to the boy took out his heart when he died, as was the custom for kings, but the doctor preserved the heart, which was against the custom, and from there, the heart of Louis was kept and passed on in a
weird sequence of events. All this, however, enabled the French authorities to compare DNA taken from the heart tissue with that of Marie Antoinette's hair, conclusively affirming that indeed, the young crown prince was the one who died in prison. This debunks all the claims ever made throughout history that the Dauphin was secreted out of prison, and that another boy "died" in his place. There have been many people claiming to *be* the Dauphin for years, and this finally settles all the claims and debates. The heart was finally buried in the royal crypt with Louis' parents.
Now what about Anastasia Romanov? =D

Again, I don't gush about fanfiction much because I rarely find really good ones, but
this short but sweet HMS Fire and Ice piece is just so much fun to read. =)
