Warner Brothers has an interesting new Harry Potter gimmick. Magical Online Trading Cards. You can trade with other players through their online forum, or collect more cards by answering Prisoner of Azkaban movie trivia. Haven't tried it out, but it sounds cool. =)

On a HP-related note, The Leaky Cauldron reports that WB released a Prisoner of Azkaban-themed "Screen Mate Desktop Program". It allows you to access the HP website through your desktop, allows you to play sound clips, and even has the shrunken head dropping in occasionally. Click here to download.

And the weirdos shall inherit the earth. I was listening to the radio this morning and caught a rather unusual bit of news. A bank robber, after seeing himself on TV news reports went to a downtown police station to surrender himself, but the folks in the station told him to come back the next day instead, to be arrested! DUH! The robber went home, and surrendered himself to a different police station the next day. This time, he was detained, but an investigation was launched, probably to determine why the first police station turned the robber away in the first place. DOUBLE DUH! What is law enforcement coming to? Sheesh.

Peeves was in my office!!! Somebody... or something, has been playing a little prank on almost everyone here in the office. Last Monday, my supervisor's little R2-D2 toy that was sitting on top of his PC monitor, was found on top of another person's monitor. Last Tuesday, my pillow, glass, and reference books, were found on my supervisor's desk, while his glass and notebook were on top of my desk. The Brother Bear toy on top of my PC ended up on another officemate's PC. Yesterday morning, the folks in the Photogrammetry and Admin departments found all their stuff interchanged too. Books, papers, slippers, shoes, pillows, mugs. And the admin assistant reported seeing a strange man nobody knows... except from old reports of sightings by paranormal-sensitive personnel working the night shift. We all know something has always been here, seeing as this is an old place, and there have been reports of sightings over the years, but this is the first time we've all experienced something. And no, we don't think it's the maintenance personnel, since they all leave at 4pm, before the employees do, and nobody else has a key to this room but the Building Administrator... who was in his house the whole time.

A little too late for Halloween, but... Zoiks.

I've loved Hello Kitty since I was a kid. I used to have a lot of Hello Kitty stuff, but they all got lost, somehow. Tsk.

Anyhoo, it's Hello Kitty's 30th anniversary, and they're holding a Hello Kitty Charity Auction, putting some cool Hello Kitty items on the block to benefit UNICEF and other childrens' charities.
