The One About Light Shows and Unexpected Trips
We went driving around the Metro last night and made an unexpected trip to the Bay Area to catch the International Pyro Olympics Exhibitions. 2 weekends, 10 countries, 20 minutes each. 20 wonderful minutes of great great pyrotechnics displays. This weekend, I was able to catch the Japanese, Mexican, and Canadian exhibitions. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I feel so much like a kid.
Wonder
how they made those. It involves
a lot of science, obviously. Do they have a college course for this? Heheheh. :)
The ones that explode to form stars and hearts are especially interesting. Those were from the Canadian exhibition, if I'm not mistaken.
The only sad thing about it all was that I wasn't able to bring Harry along with me. That means, no pics. :( I'm definitely getting Harry ready for next weekend's exhibitions. Wheeeee!!! :) I love light shows. :)
Here's next weekend's schedule:
Friday, 2 April 2004
2000H-2020H: Brazil
2100H-2120H: Australia
Saturday, 3 April 2004
2000H-2020H: China
2100H-2120H: Switzerland
Sunday, 4 April 2004
2000H-2020H: South Korea
2100H-2120H: Philippines
The International Pyro Olympics Exhibition is at the Bay City Promenade Area, near the site of SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, just off the new Diosdado Macapagal Highway. :)

Yesterday was one for unexpected trips. I made another one in the morning as a... surprise... for someone. :) Despite being too sleepy to even try getting up, I managed to finish my house elf chores, and determinedly set out to make the trip. But even with the best efforts of that sorta-crazy-but-probably-Force-sensitive bus driver who seemed to think he was racing in the Boonta Eve Classic, I still arrived late. Mission accomplished, nonetheless. :) The trip was well worth the sleepiness, the rush to finish chores for fear of having to shut my ears in the oven door later on, and the increased heart rate caused by the podracing bus driver. And who cares if I had to travel all the way there? I'm happy. Case closed.

"When you want something, the Universe conspires to make your dream come true." Dare I post this again? Paolo Coelho must be a genius. :)

You said you wished I was there, and I missed you too, so I decided to go the distance.

Congratulations, Marky! You made it where I couldn't, and you did a good job by yourself. I'm proud of you. Love you. :)

Since everyone else seems to be commenting on the costume changes... yeah, I like the new Gryffindor tie, and I love the new robes. Wow. :D

"Star Wars: Clone Wars" Chapter 11 premieres today, 7:25am and 8:00pm on Cartoon Network. *jump, skip, hop, bounce, run around the room screaming like mad...*

Here's one quiz I found... interesting. I almost thought I'd get "Jabberwocky", but apparently...
Which Poem Are You?
Sonnet 17 by Pablo Neruda. Aw, you're a romantic. You believe in true love and all that sort of stuff. How cute are you? To you, love is incredible and amazing.
Sonnet XVII by Pablo Neruda
I don't love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that doesn't bloom and carries
hidden within itself the light of those flowers,
and thanks to your love, darkly in my body
lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without complications or pride:
I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving
but this, in which there is no I or you,
so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close
~~
At least that's one of the translations... Hrmmm...
Well, I had to find out, right? :D
That's me? Really? Hrmmmm... I could've sworn I was "Jabberwocky"....

An
article on someone whose work I greatly admire. :)

Because of
someone's encouragement and inspiration, I've managed to filk again after a long long time (since August 2003? Jinkies.). This song sat unfinished for months along with several others, but since "Prisoner of Azkaban" is coming soon, I figured it wouldn't hurt to have another "Chamber of Secrets" filk. Ginny Weasley sings about the time she discovered Tom Riddle's
Diary. Do drop by
Magical Melodies if you feel like singing. :)
