I've never really given any importance to so-called "signs".
Okay, I take that back. I never used to believe in so-called "signs". But last weekend definitely changed my perspective.
Since it's Mom's birthday on Tuesday, I asked my Beloved to accompany me for a little "expedition" to the memorial park to pay Mom a visit. I told him I would be "introducing you to Mom". ;) Although getting to the park will entail a long bus ride, a short jeepney ride, and a long walk, since we don't have a car, I'm thankful he still said yes immediately. We finally made the journey last Saturday.
The weather was great last Saturday. And I took that as my first "sign". It had been raining during afternoons the whole week, but it was sunny and cheerful last Saturday. Great weather for walking long distances. It looked to me like Mom, the Lord, and the Force were endorsing this trip. ;) There was even a light breeze when we were walking in the park, which made the long trek enjoyable.
While my Beloved and I were talking and sitting on the bench beside Mom's grave, I noticed that the caretaker pruned the plants in Mom's flower box. There were usually nice little yellow flowers there, but the caretaker said that he had to do some pruning because there were already too many wayward little branches. He assured me, though, that the flowers will be blooming again soon. I took a closer look at the plants and noticed two flower buds. An even closer look revealed more flower buds, but the first two I noticed looked the most promising, because I could already see a hint of the bright yellow petals.
Yesterday, I went back to the memorial park with the rest of the family. As I was setting down some flowers on top of the grave, I saw that the two flower buds I noticed yesterday had actually bloomed! Just those two buds!
I sat down, and after a few minutes, I realized that I just got another "sign". I was relieved. It looks like Mom approves. ;)
